LEEDS is dedicated to building leadership capability and capacity at all levels of the whole organization. Our method is active in every way: active learning, sensory engagement, and the creation of situations that promote self-awareness and critical thinking for teachers. This space can be physical, mental, or both, but it provides for creative and conscious thought and challenges, as well as the development of mental resilience of the teachers. Because learning is always in service of action, our success is assessed by our ability to make a difference in the workplace and measure the progress of our Student- teachers.

We help teachers to improve and they do this by reflecting on behaviour and questioning their current practice"

LEEDS interdisciplinary workshops will provide teachers with hands-on activities and ideas which can be used to enhance the lessons in the classroom, or to enrich their own learning; while at the same time serving as a platform for bonding among teachers. Our student teachers will be able to enhance their technological skills and will be able to make use of online tools in the classroom

Why Cambridge PDQs

Cambridge Professional Development Qualifications (Cambridge PDQs) transform professional learning for practicing teachers and leaders and their schools.

Cambridge PDQs:

Cambridge PDQs are benchmarked to the Framework for Higher Educational Qualifications (FHEQ) for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The Cambridge International Award in Teaching and Learning is benchmarked to FHEQ Level 4. Candidates may progress to the PDQ Certificate, which is also benchmarked to FHEQ Level 4, and to the PDQ Diploma, which is benchmarked to FHEQ Level 5.

This means that teachers and leaders achieving a Cambridge PDQ are well prepared for their next step in the professional development pathway and their Cambridge PDQ has value as they progress to relevant Level 6 and 7 programmes.

Candidate Requirement:

Candidates need to:

  1. be a full- or part-time teacher employed in an educational institution such as a school, college, university, or adult training centre
  2. teach in their current school over a full academic year, for a minimum of 24 weeks and a minimum of six hours per week
  3. have the regular support of a mentor who understands the essential principles that underpin this qualification, and can provide helpful advice and observations
  4. teach a group with a minimum of six learners
  5. be responsible for planning, teaching and formatively assessing groups of learners

Our Programs

Cambridge International Certificate for Teaching and Learning (CICTL)
Qualification Structure

Module 1 can be taken on its own as the Certificate. Candidates can then progress to Modules 2 and 3 to complete the Diploma.

The programme is planned by the centre’s programme leader and team as a coherent sequence of learning over time, with a variety of elements

The Certificate comprises 3 units related to practice which together form Module 1: Exploring Learning and Teaching

Assessment Criteria

Candidates will be assessed for the Certificate according to the following criteria, applied to the portfolio of evidence as a whole:

How many hours of learning will I do?
There will be 150 hrs of learning in total which will include 50hrs of Guided Learning , 50 hrs of Individual collaborative learning and 50 hrs of work based learning.

What is the process of Learning?
The spiral of professional learning in a Cambridge PDQ programme depends particularly on three processes:

  • observation
  • reflection
  • learning with and from mentors
  • - These processes work together. It is crucial that learners will receive feedback to inform their continuous reflection on their learning experiences.
  • - Observation and reflection will be provided with the support of a mentor. The mentor develops a learning relationship with the candidate, supporting them during their work-based learning to make the most of the learning experience and to achieve the Cambridge qualification.

Is it applicable for a particular subject?
No, It is a part – time course to become a Certified Cambridge Educator. It is not related to one particular subject. Moreover it teaches you how to design your lesson. The candidate choose the subject area of their own choice and create , develop , implement and reflect on the pedagogical strategies learnt during the course.

What kind of assessment is conducted in this course?
There will be 150 hrs of learning in total which will include 50hrs of Guided Learning , 50 hrs of Individual collaborative learning and 50 hrs of work based learning.

How many hours of learning will I do ?
Over the 4 months , the candidate will work on the portfolio which includes 3 units . Each unit comprises of 3 assignments each i.e. Evidence of Practice, Evidence of Learning, Evidence of Reflection. The templates will be provided by the centre with the guidelines to work on it . In the 15th week , the PDQ leader will do a final review of the portfolio and guide the candidate to submit the portfolio to Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE).

What kind of qualification will I receive upon completion?

Once the portfolio is submitted to CAIE, They will send the result after 2 months. After the result is announced , the certificates will be dispatched within upcoming 2 to 3 weeks.
